Light Painting!
The word photography translate as drawing (or writing) with light:
photo=from the greek phos meaning light. graph=from the greek graphe meaning writing. Light painting, also known as light drawing or light graffiti is a photographic technique in which exposures are made usually at night or in a darkened room by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera.
you would also encounter familiar terms such as IOS,Aperture and Shutter Speed. the aperture generally controls how much light is let in, the more the aperture is exposed the more light gets into the camera. |

This is a video of light painting.
it is showing you a variety of different ways of how to make light painting happen. also as shown in the video, you dont always haft to be in a dark room for the light painting to activate. however i always thought you would haft to be in a dark room to see the light painting work, however this video has proven me wrong. also in the video i now know that you can also make light painting work in a lot of different ways. like when he put the little light pens on to the fans and let the fan spin round, when the fan stop spinning and they captured a image witch looked brilliant with all the different shapes. |

John Hesketh;''The first question people usually ask
photographer John Hesketh after seeing his work is, "How is it done?" An explanation is certainly in order because the closer you look the more difficult it is to tell. Some of his photographs, such as "Ascention" and "Self Portrait," have a ghostlike quality, reminiscent of a journey through the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, which coincidentally is very close to where Hesketh was reared.'' Art has become big business, commanding high prices and speaking the slippery language of investment potential. But the world of economics is the front yard of politics. So art, with its once-independent criteria for excellence, has suddenly found itself on the scrimmage line in a political football game with whistles to the left and right directing the play. Just how prone to social whim the rules of that game can be is the point made by the current exhibition "Censorship. |

Frank Gilbreth; In the year 1914 Frank Gilbreth, along with his wife Lillian Moller Gilbreth, used small lights and the open shutter of a camera to track the motion of manufacturing and clerical workers. The Gilbreth’s did not create these light painting photographs as an artistic endeavor; they instead were studying what they called “work simplification”. The Gilbreth’s were working on developing ways to increase employee output and simplify their jobs.
